Lecture "Prospects for the American State"

On April 12, 2017, in a scientific seminar organized by the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Arts (BASA), an academic lecture was delivered by Prof. Sam Jacobson on "Prospects for the American State".
Ms. Jacobson is an academic member of BANI and a professor of law from the University of Wyoming, Oregon, USA. She was presented to the audience by a short biographical data by academic professor Maria Slavova, who also translated from English to Bulgarian.
Academic Jacobson was born in the United States and her parents are of Norwegian origin. Her mother's cousin is the famous Norwegian traveler Tour Heerdal. She likes Bulgaria, as evidenced by her many previous visits to Bulgaria.
The lecture addressed topical issues concerning the development of the American society, and in particular the state of Oregon, such as: Increasing the number of homeless children in school age; Problems with health insurance; Job insecurity linked to corporate tactics to restrict trade union activity; The emerging insecurity and fear of the future; The impact of rising contrasts in wages on the values of such groups in society; The peculiarities of the electoral system and the impact of non-education on democracy.
The lively debates highlighted the speeches of academician Maria Slavova, academician Georgi Marinov, academician Georgi Fotev and other scientists and specialists.
