Structure of BASA
The structure of the Academy includes three sections:
- Department of Science
- Department of Arts
- Department of Civil Society.
The Department of science has 9 scientific centers:
- Scientific center "Medicine" having five scientific institutes: "Internal Diseases", "Surgery", "Public Health and Health Management", "Laboratory Medicine", "Stomatology".
- Scientific center "Bulgaristics" having three scientific institutes: "Bulgarian Language and Literature", "Bulgarian National History" and "Cultural Studies".
- Scientific center "Education, National and Civil Education" with two scientific institutes: "Education" and "National and Civil Education".
- Scientific center "Agriculture and Biotechnologies" with four scientific institutes: "Pedology", "Agronomy", "Livestock Breeding" and „Veterinary Medicine".
- Scientific center "Economic Research and Strategies" having one institute – "Economic Analyses and Forecasts".
- Scientific center "Social Sciences and Humanities" having two scientific institutes: "Sociology" and "Demography".
- Scientific center "Natural Engineering and Technical Sciences" having two institutes: "Space Research" and "Engineering Technologies".
- Scientific center "Bulgarian National Strategy" having three scientific institutes: "Bulgarian National Doctrine", "Balkan Studies" and "National Security of the Republic of Bulgaria".
- Scientific center "Legal, Political Sciences and Diplomacy" having five scientific institutes: "History, Psychology, Sociology, and Philosophy of Law"; "Administrative, State and International Legal Sciences"; "Civil Legal Sciences"; "Penal Legal Sciences"; "Diplomacy"
The Department of Arts has three creative centers:
- Creative center "Theatre, Circus and Cinema Art" having three creative institutes: "Theatre Art", "Circus Art" and "Cinema Art".
- Creative center "Music and Dances" having four creative institutes: "Classical Music", "Pop Music", "Folklore Music" and "Dances".
- Creative center "Fine Arts" having two creative institutes: "Fine and Plastic Arts" and "Art Studies".
