The deed of the Apostle of Freedom is multi-layered and we have not been able to capture all of his aspects so far. The main points in the report of Academician Pavlov were:
Vasil Levski is not betrayed, he is captured, he is pursued by the all the Ottoman authority. The very deed of Levski shows that the betrayal was not peculiar to the Bulgarians. The Ottoman state with its entire repressive apparatus for three years is asleep what he does – Levski writes in his notes that there are 12,000 organized revolutionaries.
Vasil Levski is a healthy man with a cheerful temper and is very contact. He is always dressed appropriately, speaks carefully, and has strict accounting.
Levski had a talent to paint as well as musical education and he was known for angel singing.
He is also a monk and his mission as a monk is the liberation of Bulgaria.
Vasil Levski belongs to the middle class of Bulgarian society; in the organizations he creates there are doctors, teachers, traders, craftsmen, ie. the most promising forces, people aged 25-40, urban people.
Levski is the strategist of the revolution, he was not a supporter of rebel tactics. His idea of the uprising was to be in the winter and the fighting to be in the cities, not the Balkans. He is considering is the issue of revolutionary terror and preliminary government in Bulgaria.
Associate Professor Ivaylo Hristov presented a report on the social aspects of Vasil Levski's revolutionary deed and his astonishing financial austerity. Significant points in the report were:
Money resources - the formation of monetary funds and its large-scale activity to solve this issue. Contributions of the members of the committee for the realization of the deed - Levski's personal notebook is full of such data.
Arming the Revolutionary Committees.
The financial-accounting documentation and revisions of the committee funds, made by Levski during his visits.
Vasil Levski has planned to collect about 6,620,000 pennies, but has managed to collect about one tenth of this amount in the Committee Treasury. End-to-end fundraising measures have also been used. The wealthy peasants remain generally deaf to his appeals.
Characteristic for Levski is his sense of self-control, his pedanticity and meticulous accountability. He has knowledge, organizational abilities and determination, but not hard-hearted.
Academician Marin Kadiev devoted his report to the misconceptions regarding Vasil Levski. He pointed out that Pop Krustyo's manuscripts came out 15 years ago and a cultural society Pop Krustyo was created. Pop Krustyo is not a traitor, he exposes the wealthy peasants. It was not until 1973 that the buried money of the Committee was found. Levski had been a religious for a lifetime. "Freedom and a clean republic" are his words.
On the lawsuit against Levski Academician Kadiev pointed out: Vasil Levski is not judged; a committee of 2 Turks and 4 Bulgarians was established; the draft of the commission is not a court, the investigation is not a court; the verdict is pronounced by the Sultan, and it is a political murder.
Academician Ivanka Deneva presented a documentary-artistic text dedicated to man of God Levski and the national deeds for Bulgaria, which again and for any time is written with dignity and blood.
The chief secretary of BASA Academician Margarita Kamenova summarized that it is essential not only what we know about Vasil Levski, but also what we take from him - by assuming his morality we may become better.
A fruitful discussion was held with the participation of the representatives of BASA and the guests of the conference, the authors of the reports answered the questions asked.
