Presentation of the new book by Academician Ivanka Deneva "The Enigma of the Time" in the town of Leiden (Netherlands)
The writer academician Ivanka Deneva visited one of the most important spiritual centers of Europe and the Netherlands - the town of Leiden. The creative meeting on the eve of the People's Enlightener Day - November 1, was held at the invitation of the Director A. Semerdzhieva and the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Cultural Institute was attended by lecturers, representatives of the Bulgarian community, students and parents.
The author was pleased to be among the compatriots in the great cultural center - the birthplace of cult celebrities of the world science and art, such as artist Rembrandt van Rhine, musician Armin van Buren and Nobel laureate physicist Heike Ones, and in Leiden University Albert Einstein has lectured as a guest professor for more than 20 years...
In view of the forthcoming People's Enlightener Day, the crowded hall was decorated with the Bulgarian flag and flowers, with the portraits of Paisii and the dear to our compatriots faces of Hristo Botev and Jordan Jovkov whose contributions in the native literature were sharply outlined among those of the national enlighteners. After the introductory words, the writer Ivanka Deneva gave a greeting to the participants with their poetic triptych "Bulgaria of our ancestors and our children". Ms. Arieta Semerdzhieva - director of the school and philologist, presented the author's varied artistic quests in the field of novel, storytelling and drama, theatrical and literary criticism, as well as publications in international issues, the awards and the inclusion of her biography in a number of national encyclopaedias ("Significant Bulgarians of Modern Bulgaria" and "1000 reasons to be proud that we are Bulgarians" and others.)
Ivanka Deneva's new book, The Enigma of the Time, was presented by her author's reading of an excerpt from the drama "The memory of the time," after which she answered to the many questions from teachers and guests: about the hero prototypes, the depicted historical events in the work and about the application of the people speak, the authenticity of the language and about the long-standing work on the speech.
After the premiere Academician Dr. Ivanka Deneva examined – at the invitation of the hosts, the base of the school, observing some of the classes, and she also held a meeting with the Board of Trustees: to inform about the problems of the educational process and the joint cultural activities of the Bulgarian community with the local Dutch administration. The overall work of our compatriots shows a dedication and patriotic drive to preserve the language, memory and national traditions in the young people from the current team of the first Bulgarian school established in the Netherlands: "St. St. Cyril and Methodius ", Leiden.
Guest received a beautiful bouquet of flowers and souvenirs. Like her previous book (the novel Crossroads and Winds), and the new one - The Enigma of the Time - enriched the literary fund of the Bulgarian school, bearing the names of the holy first teachers.
